Platinum-Iridium capillary
Overview
The Pt-Ir capillary is a high-precision micro-tube made of a platinum-iridium alloy. It combines the chemical stability of platinum with the high strength of iridium, making it the preferred precious metal tube for extreme working conditions.

Key features (unreplacable)
(1)Superior corrosion resistance
Resistant to aqua regia, strong acids, strong bases, and organic solvents; Iridium ≥ 30% can withstand boiling aqua regia.
(2)High melting point and thermal stability
Melting point is approximately 1770–1850℃, does not deform or soften at high temperatures.
(3)High hardness and strength
Several times harder than pure platinum, resistant to deformation and wear, suitable for micro and precise structures.
(4)Extremely high dimensional accuracy
Outer diameter 0.3–8.0mm, wall thickness 0.015–0.5mm, tolerance can reach ±0.005mm.
(5)Excellent electrical conductivity / heat conductivity
Low contact resistance, electrochemical stability, suitable for electrodes and sensing scenarios.
(6)Biocompatible + X-ray non-permeable
Safe for medical implants, visible under imaging, facilitating interventional operations.

Selection suggestions
(1)High corrosion + Medium temperature: Choose PtIr10 (high cost-effectiveness).
(2)High temperature + High mechanical load: Choose PtIr20–PtIr25.
(3)Medical implant: Prefer PtIr10 (biocompatible + X-rays cannot penetrate)
